It’s particularly recommended if you are a non-mandarin speaker on an SEO driven blogging mission in countries like China where Google services are restricted. As such, your dependency on Google keyword planner would be heavily reduced. However, SEMrush is not free – you’ll need to get a premium membership.

3. Yoast SEO – This is the best plugin to ensure that your web pages follow SEO guidelines. If you have not given a try, install it right now! I am confident that your writing style will improve.
4. 404 to 301 –The Google page ranking algorithm would usually penalise pages with broken links. The 404 to 301 plugin is aimed at redirecting all such broken links to a site’s homepage.
5. Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights – This plugin is used to quickly integrate the Google Analytics with your website.
6. Really Simple SSL – This plugin ensures that your site always runs over https (Google assigns a better search rank to the https pages). However, you must have the SSL certificate already installed on your website before you benefit from this plugin. That means if your site doesn’t have a SSL certificate, this plugin won’t be useful!
7. Google XML Sitemaps – Every time you modify or add a new page to your site, you are supposed to submit the Sitemaps to the search engines. This plugin keeps track of all the updates across your website and automatically submits the Sitemaps to different search engines.
8. Redirection – If you are changing the slug (exact address of a web page on your site) of a web page, make sure you redirect the old page to the new page as the old page might have been already indexed by Google for search queries, and would still appear in the SERP (search engine result page). This plugin helps you redirect an old url to the an updated or new url.
9. Broken Link Checker – Google bots would crawl your web pages at a regular interval. If the crawler finds a broken link on a page, the corresponding page rank may be penalised. Basically Broken Link Checker plugin keeps track and notifies you about the broken links across your website.
10. Rel Nofollow Checkbox – When you hyperlink another site on your web pages, you basically provide backlinks (and link juice) to the referred site. If you don’t want to provide backlinks to such sites, you can update a hyperlink’s setting using Rel Nofollow Checkbox plugin.
