Welcome to the Unit 0 of SKMLifeStyle’s Chinese language course. In this unit you’ll be introduced to some of the general aspects about the best way to learn Chinese for beginners. For the simplicity of the course, I’d assume that you, in general, have got no background in learning Chinese. Well, China is a massive geographical landmass and there are multiple languages spoken throughout the country. However, Mandarin language is the official language and it is widely spoken by the Chinese people. The Chinese government has taken extraordinary steps to simplify and unify Mandarin. Nevertheless, it remains a formidable challenge for the foreigners to master standard Mandarin Chinese.
In fact, I have been trying to discover Chinese culture for a long time (and language is an integral part of culture). However, I was more into culture rather than the language in particular. Inspired by the culture, when I came to China for work, I realized that the language skills are very important to sustain a good living in China. Soon I started learning Chinese, spending around 2-3 hours every day. And now, I’m going to teach you this beautiful tonal language.
